For individuals who are over 21, there is no penalty for carrying not more than 28.5 grams of marijuana. For individuals under 18 or between the ages of 18-21, possession of less than one ounce of marijuana will be considered an infraction, rather than a misdemeanor. This means that there is no penalty other than a fine which may not exceed $100.
