Known as El Toro until its incorporation as a city in 1991, Lake Forest CA had a population of 77,264 as of the U.S. Census in 2010. It is located within Orange County and in 2000 was expanded by vote to include two master-planned developments: Portola Hills and Foothill Ranch. The name of Lake Forest CA comes from two lakes, both of which are man-made. The forest portion of the name refers to Eucalyptus trees.
