Breaking: Erika Sandoval, ex-wife of Exeter police officer Daniel Green, is being charged with his murder

Erika Sandoval, ex-wife of Exeter police officer Daniel Green, is being charged with his murderProsecutors are now alleging that ex-wife Erika Sandoval killed former Exeter police officer, Daniel Green at his home last February. A judge ruled yesterday that there is now enough evidence to charge Sandoval with first-degree murder.

Green’s body was found after he failed to show up at work at the police department. It appears that Sandoval may have entered her former husband’s home, taken his gun, hid in the closet, and then when he arrived, shot him multiple times. If she did wait for Green to murder him, it’s possible that this case could result in a death penalty conviction.

She has confessed to the crime, though it’s possible it will be ruled a false confession in court. Anything is possible since she has an excellent defense attorney.

Criminal defense attorney Dan Chambers is representing Erika Sandoval in this case, and has been quoted by YourCentralValley.com, saying, “We used today to gain some knowledge about the prosecution’s case, we have some thoughts of our own on how to address these issues and we’re continuing to plan our defense in this case.”

Detectives are reporting that she may have been concerned about Green taking Sandoval’s child away. Their son Aiden was 2 and a half as of last February, and as a result of this investigation, he has been placed with Green’s twin brother, who is now petitioning the court for legal guardianship.

Sandoval’s arraignment has been scheduled for August 25th.

In the meantime, Southern California’s top criminal defense attorney, Dan Chambers, will leave no stone unturned in his pursuit of a proper defense for Sandoval.
