Aggressive Prosecutors
One of the major challenges to defendants facing charges in Orange County is that we have very aggressive prosecutors. It’s important to understand that every county in CA has its own District Attorney’s Office, and they are all independent of one another. Of course the same law applies in all counties, but the attitude towards different crimes and therefore the willingness to file charges and to seek lesser or harsher penalties can and will vary by county.
Orange County is a relatively low-crime area, so what happens is the crimes that do get committed here tend to be prosecuted very aggressively.
